This Weekend Inspiration features the work of someone who is an inspiration any day of the week -- Billy Butchkavitz. For years he has worked with a tight team to produce events for HBO. The cable channel's after parties at the Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globes are nothing short of jaw dropping. Each one is curated for months, with Butchkavitz traveling far and wide (metaphorically and literally) for inspiration from the world of interior design, textiles, art and fashion. And recently, technology. For instance, the recent HBO Season Six Premiere of Game of Thrones featured a full wrap of the Hollywood Roosevelt Ballroom with the Hall of Faces reproduced on vinyl by Agile Eye Solutions.This week, Butchkavitz and Agile Eye teamed up again to create this stunning dessert vignette at BizBash LA. Butchkavitz was one of three designers asked to interpret natural elements for the Design Lunch. With water as his chosen element, Butchkavitz asked Agile Eye to create a backdrop, a parsons table and a carpet, all custom designed using Monet's Water Lily. Much of this technology, especially the carpet, was cost-prohibitive several years ago, and is now something that is within budget reach, Butchkavitz explained. The final touch was a plethora of cylindrical glass vases filled with water and pink dahlias.
